What are your interests/hobbies outside of cannabis and building your company?īaum: I love fitness, it is important to me to exercise regularly, and I feel like that surprises people when they find out I have a bong company.What’s one fact about you some people might not know about you?īaum: In college I was one of TBS top 16 college comedians, but it caused me a lot of anxiety so I went into business instead.They also have clear pictures of people loving and enjoying their product. I am specifically motivated by their edgy and modern branding, as well as how they're on top of social issues. Besides your company/business, which company/business is your favorite?īaum: I really am a fan of MeUndies, I think they do an amazing job with their advertising.I was like "If this guy can accomplish so much after doing hard drugs and treating people like shit, I can do something huge by treating people fairly."īaum: "Into Thin Air", it was so mesmerizing to see someone face impossible challenges and succeed. We also can't use any PPC/paid ads, greatly limiting our ability to advertise.īaum: Besides cannabis shaping who I am, I was very motivated by the Steve Jobs book - but not in the typical sense. I couldn't get banks to take me seriously when I was starting out, and payment processing was a nightmare. What are some challenges you’ve faced since being in the cannabis industry?īaum: The stigma has been a major challenge.What do you hope to accomplish within the next year?īaum: I would love to grow Daily High Club to 1 million followers and come out with even more innovative bongs! We recently came out with a turkey bong for thanksgiving - it is unlike a bong anyone has ever seen before.What do you value most about cannabis culture?īaum: The peace and love - people fight all the time on alcohol, but how many get stoned and cause violence? The debut Mild High Club album, Timeline, was released on Stones Throw in 2015. Influenced by AOR and jazz, Brettin began working on Mild High Club material in 2012 by himself, using guitars, keyboards, computers, and a four-track recorder, while shuttling between Chicago, Baltimore, and Los Angeles.
